4 Easy Steps To Polish Your Shoes

Polish your shoes, really? Yep, and here’s why. In the world of business, shoes can be a definite fashion statement. When you’re walking around in a fresh pair of shiny, clean shoes – let’s face it, you feel pretty darn good! Unfortunately, throughout the day, they can experience a lot – from severe weather to bathrooms and sidewalks, they can lose their original luster quickly.

Making sure that you take good care of your shoes is essential, especially if you’ve invested money in a high-quality pair.  Knowing the proper way to clean them is imperative to ensure they last for a long time.

Gather Your Supplies

You will need shoe polish, a brush, and a soft cloth. These can be bought in shoe stores–local or online.

Remove excess debris

Use a damp cloth or brush to remove all visible debris from the shoes. Be sure that they are completely dry before you move on to the polishing step.

Polish

When it comes to polishing, a little goes a long way. Dab a small amount on the leather and begin rubbing using the brush in small, circular motions. Be careful not to apply too much pressure. If you feel that you don’t have enough polish to cover the surface, use a bit more. Once you’re done, use the brush to remove any of the excess polish that remains.

Buff

Use your soft cloth to buff. Make sure to take extra care of the heel and toe areas. Once you’ve completed this step, your shoes should look shiny and new!

I hope these tips will encourage you to look at your shoes and show them a little TLC (tender loving care). The well-dressed woman looks impeccable from head to toe. A pair of clean and polished basic black pumps will boost your confidence as you put your best foot forward in any social or business setting.
