I am a big fan of Walt Disney and his work. Since I’m a Baby Boomer, I grew up going to “Disney movies” like Bambi, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Lady and the Tramp, etc. And, of course, I was a faithful daily viewer of the television show, The Mickey Mouse Club.
Consequently, I was saddened when I read this story about a family feud between Walt Disney’s grandchildren centering around their $400 million inheritance.
After reading about the family dynamics, I am certainly glad that my life is peaceful and calm — like most of you. I think most of us would prefer our daily life, with all its challenges, than facing contentious legal battles with family members over millions of dollars. I guess this situation is another example that money and fame can not buy you peace and love.
American journalist, Charles Kuralt, hit the mark when he said:
The love of family and the admiration of friends is much more important than wealth and privilege.
