Planning fun activities to do after Thanksgiving Day will help you create happy holiday memories. Whether you spent Thanksgiving alone or with a houseful of guests, lively and entertaining activities will jump-start your holiday season.

Examples of Fun Activities

  1. Volunteer at a local organization like a soup kitchen, a retirement home, or a homeless shelter. Start the spirit of the holidays by serving others for the joy of the Lord. Don’t forget to call the facility in early November or the week before Thanksgiving to get their approval for your volunteerism.
  2. Visit a local museum or an art gallery.
  3. Play tourist in your town. Stroll down the streets. Or visit a particular neighborhood.
  4. Take a Walk. Pick an enjoyable destination. All you need to bring are your sneakers and a conversation.
  5. Grab a seasonal drink. Get a peppermint mocha or gingerbread latte, or enjoy hot apple cider or a cup of eggnog.
  6. Bake Christmas cookies.
  7. Play Christmas music
  8. Decorate for Christmas.
  9. Organize a game night. Ask your guests to bring their favorite board game. Be sure to have games on hand that are appropriate for all ages, including teenagers and preschoolers.
  10. Start a family Thanksgiving journal. Grab a blank notebook. Ask everyone to write down his or her thanks for this year. And then next year, do the same so that over time, you will build a treasured family gratitude book as well as a sort of family history. The little ones can dictate their entries to the older children or adults.

These ideas are meant to get your imagination going. Do you have any fun activities to add to this list?
