AAA projects 35.5 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Labor Day holiday weekend. This is the highest travel volume for a holiday since 2008 and a 1% increase over last year. Air travel is also projected to grow by 1.5% during this holiday as well. Over 2.6 million travelers are expected to travel by air this year.

Here are a few traffic tips:

  • Friday’s traffic patterns are normal for this time of the year.
  • Traffic peaks between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday.
  • On Sunday, traffic peaks between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
