How to make your gift special with a pretty bow

Adding a pretty bow makes any gift special. Since May kicks off a special gift-giving season from Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to graduations, First Communions, and weddings, I want to share an instructive video about bow making.

You don’t have to spend hours on dressing up your gift box; package your gift with a bow made of a beautiful satin ribbon. Making a pretty bow is not very hard, as shown in this video from Lia Griffith. Lia shows us how to make a bow using double-satin ribbon (which means that it’s shiny on both sides) and single-satin ribbon (shiny on one side).

I like to play with wraps and papers, ribbons and bows but it can be tricky to get it looking just right. Tying the perfect bow can leave you cross and frustrated which is no fun! So today Im sharing my updated video on how to tie the perfect bow. VIDEO: How To Tie The Perfect Bow – Updated!! – Lia Griffith

A couple of closing “Rosy Tips”:

  • If you don’t want to buy a bolt of ribbon,  buy your ribbon by the yard at a fabric store. Some craft stores also sell ribbons by the yard.
  • An important tool for working with ribbon is a good pair of scissors. Good scissors won’t tug and fray your ribbon. I suggest you buy your scissors at your local fabric store.
  • Use your “ribbon scissors” exclusively for working with ribbon and fabric, and don’t use them on your paper crafts. Also, keep them stored in a special place away from a family member who’s on a scissor hunt.

Have fun making pretty bows and bringing delight to your family and friends!
